The Charles City Housing and Redevelopment Authority’s (CCHRA) goal is to improve the quality of life for clients by providing affordable housing and building community partnerships with other agencies to provide needed services.

On an average, 180 families are assisted on a monthly basis with the cooperation of approximately 90 landlords on the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The Housing Authority is also the landlord to 148 households participating on the Public Housing Program. Participation in all programs requires the family to meet federally determined income guidelines.
